NOTE: Each day from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur I will be posting an inspiring Jewish text along with a few questions for reflection. Feel free to answer and discuss here, or to use these questions for your own reflection/journaling. These texts are also being posted on my Facebook page
TEXT 5: Talmud, Shabbat 153a

Rabbi Eliezer said: “Repent one day before your death.”
Rabbi Eliezer’s students asked him: “But does a person know the day on which he will die?”
He said to them: All the more so, one should repent today lest he die tomorrow. Thus one will spend his entire life in repentance.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION:
- What do you think of Rabbi Eliezer’s advice?
- What would it look like to live every day like it might be your last?
- Is there a goal you have put on a back burner but not forgotten about? How might you start taking steps toward fulfilling it?
